Welcome to the Rosemount Irish Invitational. We look forward to hosting you on Saturday, Sept. 30. We will hold competition in policy, LD, public forum, and congress.

Policy, public forum, and JV and varsity LD will debate the current national topics in those events. Novice LD will use the standing Minnesota novice Sept.-Oct. topic, "Resolved: States ought to eliminate their nuclear arsenals."

Sept. 14 update: Congress legislation has been posted. The items reserved for finals are mandatory voting and school the children.

It is our hope to offer single-flighted rounds in LD and PF. (We are thankful to Coon Rapids for hosting another tournament on the same date as ours, which will hopefully allow us to have enough room to avoid double-flighting.) I'll set out our current proposed schedule below. Please note, however, that we have only one building and therefore a limited number of rooms. If our entries get too high we will have to consider taking steps such as capping entries or returning to double-flighting. With that caveat noted, here is how I hope the day to run:

7:30 am Building opens

8:15 am Registration ends

8:45 am Rounds begin in all divisions

9:45 am LD/PF round 2

11:00 am Congress lunch break, LD/PF Round 3, Policy Round 2

11:45 am Congress Session 2

12:15 pm LD/PF lunch break

1:00 pm Policy lunch break, LD/PF Round 4

1:30 pm Policy Round 3

2:15 pm LD/PF Round 5

2:30 pm Congress finals

4:45 pm Awards in the cafeteria
